“Do You Trust Your Wife?” was aired on ABC from July, 1958 to December, 1963 at 3:30 in the afternoon. Johnny Carson, whose career was floundering at the time, hosted. Ed mcmahon was the announcer and both remained until their departure for “The Tonight Show” in 1962. An earlier version of the show, “Who Do You Trust?,” aired on CBS prime time from January, 1956 to March, 1957 and was hosted by Edgar Bergen. A quiz show, married couples answered trivia questions. The name of the show is derived from an aspect of the game in which the husband decides whether to answer the trivia question himself or trust his wife. There are some very colorful contestants in this episode, including one man who teaches fencing for a living and another who earns his living as a pitchman.
